We, as a community, value the quality of life to be found in a safe, family-oriented community and will work to provide a secure, comfortable, and enriching environment.

The Broadway Theatre is administered by the non-profit Friends of the Broadway Board of Trustees to provide for local community live theatre, concerts, & ceremonies, as well as films. The building is available to rent for YOUR event! (989) 772-2075.

The Soaring Eagle Casino and Resort is a casino, hotel and entertainment venue owned and operated by the Saginaw Chippewa Indian Tribe, located just outside of Mt. Pleasant, Michigan. It is considered to be the largest casino in the Midwest.

Medical Services The City of Mount Pleasant is fortunate to have Central Michigan Community Hospital, located in the heart of Mount Pleasant. CMCH recently completed a multi-million upgrade of its facilities by opening a new cancer center offering both radiation and chemotherapy treatment. This center is a partnership between CMCH and the University of Michigan’s Health Systems Department of Radiation Oncology. CMCH is a full service hospital, capable of treating all cases of accidents. CMCH’s affiliation with the University of Michigan Medical System in Ann Arbor allows for seamless transition in extreme situations. The Mount Pleasant Area is also served by Mid-Michigan, Gratiot and Sparrow Health Systems Ambulance Services CMCH EMS and the Mount Pleasant Fire Department provide Ambulance services in the Mount Pleasant area. These services include ground ambulance transportation, helicopter services throughout the lower Michigan peninsula and nationwide fixed wing services. Nearest EMS/Ambulance Station The nearest EMS/Ambulance Station in Mount Pleasant is located at the Mount Pleasant Municipal Complex, 804 E. High Street, which is approximately 1/4 mile from Mission Street. The ground ambulance, which contains advanced life support equipment, is staffed 24 hours per day, seven days per week by a EMS paramedic and a City of Cadillac Firefighter / EMT.

Animal Health Associates has been serving the community of Central Michigan since 1989. Drs. Alex Imlay and Larry Judge opened the first office when the clinic consisted only of two small exam rooms, a surgery room and kennel room.

Mount Pleasant Public Schools The public school district encompassing the Mount Pleasant Area with six elementary schools, one intermediate school, one high school, one alternative high school, a technical center and an adult education center. Sacred Heart Academy Sacred Heart Parish, a Roman Catholic faith community in central Michigan since 1872 with rich heritage and varied life experiences is committed to the mission of Jesus. Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College Saginaw Chippewa Tribal College is a two-year college located in Mount Pleasant, Michigan. In 1998, the Saginaw Chippewa Tribal Council adopted a resolution establishing a tribally-controlled college and formation of a governing Board of Regents.

Highway Access There are several state system highways that provide the Mount Pleasant area with excellent transportation service. They include M-20 and US 127. M-20 is an east-west 5 lane highway that runs through Mount Pleasant. US 127 is a north-south limited access highway that is approximately 1 mile east of Mount Pleasant, which has a 5 lane business route run through Mount Pleasant. The nearest interstate highways are I-75 & I-69, which are approximately 60 miles east and south of Mount Pleasant. Rail Access The nearest railroad in Mount Pleasant is the Tuscola & Saginaw Bay railroad. At present, the railroad does not offer regular passenger rail service. However, the a local establishment has successfully negotiated with Tuscola & Saginaw Bay to provide service for a monthly "Dinner Train" and also tours along the rail line from Shepard, MI to Traverse City, MI. The nearest access point for passenger rail service (AMTRAK) is in East Lansing, MI, approximately 65 miles from Mount Pleasant. Water Port The City of Mount Pleasant is located approximately 50 miles inland from Lake Huron and the nearest navigable water port is located in Bay City, Michigan. The Bay City area has many local marinas that you may either rent or purchase a marine slip for your motor boat or sailboat. Airports The Mount Pleasant Airport is located approximately one mile to the east of Mount Pleasant and while it does not have routine commercial service, it does provide a clear alternative for private aircraft. The nearest commercial airports to Mount Pleasant are MBS Airport (30 miles) or Lansing Capital City Airport (55 miles). Currently, MBS Airport offers 15-20 commercial flights per day, with five flights departing/arriving from Chicago, Illinois; seven flights departing/arriving from Detroit, Michigan, three flights departing/arriving from Minneapolis, Minnesota. Lansing Capital City offers the same plus regular service to Washington D.C., Cleveland, Atlanta & Las Vegas. Public Transit & Taxi Service The Mount Pleasant Area is served by the Isabella County Transportation Commission. This is a "dial-a-ride" service and provided by the taxpayers of Isabella County. The Campus Shuttle has been expanded to the Downtown Area. Mt. Pleasant Parks and Recreation is dedicated to providing quality indoor and outdoor recreational opportunities for the enjoyment and well-being of all area residents and visitors.

Isabella County Parks: The park is located 5 miles west of Mt. Pleasant on M-20 and offers 8 miles of groomed cross country ski trails and a sledding hill for your enjoyment.

Max and Emily's. Located downtown Mt. Pleasant at corner of Broadway and University, Max and Emily's eatery has been a favorite for all of residents of the community.
